Bijou’s Secret is a one woman musical play by Fiona Stewart about grief, art and healing. Three generations of women, inextricably entwined, share with us how they each navigate their way through loss, terror and uncertainty. Audiences have told us that it is a powerful and universal story; one which embraces both humour and tragedy.
A mother hides the truth.
A daughter seeks it.
A grandchild runs from it.
A secret is finally revealed that has traversed generations and continents.
Songs from Gabriel Fauré, Kurt Weill, Artie Shaw and Fiona Stewart have been reinterpreted, transcribed and arranged for classical guitar by the talented Julius Schwing, who will also accompany the performances.
Bijou’s Secret is a new music theatre work that explores the inheritance of lies, loss, artistic legacy and personal identity. Fiona Stewart as author, director and performer.
